THE PILOT

The ideal apparatus for moving from testing to production

As its name suggests, the Pilot still allows for distillation testing and process optimization with a limited quantity of plant material, but it also enables approaching small-scale production. Its design is very similar to that of the Explorer with double (80 L) or even quadruple (160 L) capacity with the tank extension.

The Pilot comes with the same features as the Explorer and, with few exceptions, the same options are available: distillation with agitation or turbo-distillation, vacuum distillation, tank extension, insulation, rectification column, electric heating system, etc. It also comes standard with a steam inlet and diffuser at the bottom of the tank to allow the use of an external steam source and thus better replicate industrial-scale operations, as well as an additional connector on the lid for installing a pressure relief valve or thermometer.

Like all Alchemia stills, the Pilot is built to last. We have been putting it to the test ourselves for many years. Its design has been tested and approved by numerous users. It is entirely manufactured from 304 and 316 stainless steel ranging from 14 to 11 gauge depending on the components. Fabrication is entrusted to an experienced welder and we conduct rigorous preparation and quality control on each unit leaving our workshop.
